Property care in Kaštela
Kaštela is not one town but seven, strung along the bay between Trogir and Split, each grown around a fortified castle built as protection against Ottoman raids. It's a residential area more than a resort, with the airport at one end and Split at the other. Properties here are often used year-round or let long-term rather than only in summer.
In season
The seven Kaštela differ more than their shared name suggests, from historic core to new development. During the initial survey we therefore take care to judge the specific location rather than the label. The airport is minutes away on the map and half an hour away in July, and guests plan flights on the map. We give transfer times measured from the traffic rather than the distance. The seven villages also differ street by street in what is next door, from quiet waterfront to port and industry, and that belongs in a listing rather than in a surprise on arrival.
Out of season
Seven villages in a row along the bay, close to the airport and to Split, so this is the most built-up stretch we cover. Winter here is mild and wet, and the recurring problem is water getting in where two building periods meet. Unlike the resort towns, much of the stock here is lived in or let long-term, so the winter job is wear and the shared parts rather than opening and closing a holiday house. Where a block sits close to the main road or the port, render and window seals take the brunt, and those are what we look at first.
