Property care in Makarska
Makarska is the centre of the riviera, built around a horseshoe harbour with the Osejava peninsula on one side and the mountain directly behind. It has the most going on of any town on this stretch of coast, and the Biokovo skywalk above it has become a destination in its own right. The mountain also means dramatic weather: heavy rain runs downhill fast here.
In season
During heavy rain the Biokovo sends large volumes of water downhill very quickly. On hillside properties we check drainage and run-off and add an inspection after heavy rainfall. In town itself, shared ownership dominates again. The town is densely built and short of parking, which makes a changeover a logistical exercise as much as a cleaning one. On the front, road and terrace noise carries into the flats until late, and a guest who was warned is a guest who booked the right property.
Out of season
Biokovo shelters the town from the open bura but produces its own downdraughts, which arrive suddenly and from above rather than along the coast. Awnings and roof fittings are what they find first, and they are what we secure before winter. Dense building also means the next wall is very close. Anything involving scaffolding, a roof or a facade needs the neighbours squared away before it starts, and winter is when that can be arranged without a terrace full of guests underneath.
