In season
Many properties in the old town can only be reached on foot, which turns every tradesperson’s visit and every material delivery into a planning question. We know the access routes and arrange appointments so that nobody ends up standing in front of a locked alley. Parking is the honest conversation for anything central. There is none at most old-town addresses, and a guest needs to know before booking where the nearest space is and what it costs. Self-check-in earns its keep here for the same reason: arrival times slip when people are hunting for a place to leave the car.
Out of season
The old town is stone, and many ceilings there are still reed matting nailed over beams and plastered over, a construction that ages badly and fails suddenly. Small earthquakes are ordinary on this coast, and the channel funnels the bura straight through the town. Having the office in town is what makes the rest workable. After a night of bura we are at the property within the hour rather than the following day, and the bigger jobs go into the winter months, when the trades we work with have capacity.
