Property care in Trogir
Trogir's old town is a UNESCO site built on its own small island between the mainland and Čiovo, and the stone architecture here is some of the finest on the coast. Split airport is ten minutes away, which makes it one of the most convenient locations in Dalmatia for owners flying in. Most holiday houses and villas are on Čiovo, spread along the coast on both sides of the island.
In season
There is no vehicle access in the old town; every delivery goes by handcart or by boat. Renovations are also subject to heritage rules. We plan trade appointments accordingly and know the firms that can work under those conditions. The bridge to Čiovo decides the rest. Most holiday houses stand on the island, and in July and August a crossing that takes four minutes in March can take forty. That is why we schedule Čiovo properties early in the morning, and why our honest answer about how fast we can be there in high season is measured from the traffic rather than from the map.
Out of season
The old town is a small island of dense stone with no vehicle access, so everything that goes in or out is carried. That changes what a repair costs and how long it takes, and it is worth knowing before a pump has to be replaced in August. In the old town nothing structural happens without heritage approval, and approval is measured in months rather than weeks. Winter is when the paperwork goes in, so that a permit exists by the time the trades have capacity and the streets are empty enough to work in.
